Man, I must be getting boring..

I'm really not! I promise!

I can't get it all together! I haven't even sent my Christmas cards out yet, and last years cards were going to be New Years cards and they didn't even get sent last year! OHMY!

I can't believe the new year of 2009 is already starting! It just seems unreal to me. The years are going by too fast. I guess it is true the older you get the faster they go by.

Here are some of the things that have been happening in my life:

*I passed my OPTE teaching test! YAY!
*I have reconnected with a lot of my high school friends on Facebook.
*I am spending too much time on Facebook. LOL
*I have been subbing a lot at the middle school lately--and they actually like me, which I don't think is a wonderful thing all the time. I really don't let them get away with much!!
*My kindergarten class I subbed call me "Miss Muffin". My last name is "Huffman". LOL I loveee it!
*I need to finish painting the house.

We had a great Christmas. Brady got an IPOD Touch from Santa. :) so he was extremely happy.
I now have to run, need to take some things by the recycling place.

I am tired!

Hello once again, I feel like there is no time for anything anymore. Last week I thought I was going to TRY to be organized for Halloween so Brady and I went to the mall in Joplin to look for his costume. We bought half of it and then Steve was going to go the next day and get the rest while I was at work. He drove up there and they wouldn't take a check, and since I had the credit card with me at school it was pretty much a wasted trip. After a busy day in kindergarten, and when I say busy---my gosh those kids are busy!! 20 five year olds to keep entertained. I know if it were my own classroom it would be a lot different and I kept telling myself "they are five" but it just seems so young!! Ok-on with my story.......after school on Thursday I drove straight to Spencer's to get the rest of Brady's costume then dropped it off at home and drove to the school to help decorate for the Halloween dance we were having to raise money for the show choir to go to NYC over spring break. I drove home threw on some bunny ears and painted a nose and whiskers on my face and that was the extent of my 5min halloween costume. The dance was great, there were a lot of kids and we raised a lot of money for our trip.
Tomorrow Brady is leaving to go to Tulsa for all district choir and he is spending the night. We had to go buy some new dress shoes, shirt and tie since at our church we dress very casual and he never wears all of this. We finished a while ago packing and I believe he is all ready to go. I am glad he told me about this yesterday and not tomorrow morning on the way to school. LOL

One more thing.

Had to add one more thing..........

Time: 7:55am Friday morning---he has to be at school at 8:00am for athletics.

Place: Living room

What: My son telling me that "today" is picture day and he forgot to tell me.

You can guess the rest...........

I know, I have been terrible about blogging since I haven't written anything since June!

Here is what has been going on............
Summer went by way too fast. I worked the bike run along with the Ted Nugent concert. Alice Cooper was the next concert, I have to say it was really good. Very weird, but in a cool way.

I started this year working again at the school, but decided to sub instead. I am enjoying it this year, but plan on sticking to elementary and not the middle or hs. When I sub at the elementary level I get to teach.

We had a yard sale this weekend and I am so glad it is over. It is a lot of work, but when you make money for stuff you don't need anymore that makes it worth it!!

We are planning on going to NYC with the show choir group over spring break. I can't wait!! I have never been and am looking forward to it.

I will let you know in the next post what we will be doing.

been a long time.

Welp, can't believe it has been so long since I have blogged. I have been reading, but not writing.
School is finally out--I had been working in the special needs classroom as a teacher's aide in one of our elementary schools. It was very challenging but I ended up really loving it. The first two weeks I thought, "What am I doing?" and almost quit, but I stayed in there and it all worked out good. I miss my little guy I worked with very much and hopefully I will see him in Church this next Sunday!! I am having withdrawals. :)

Brady is keeping busy already. He is on a baseball traveling team but haven't had a game in awhile due to our wonderful, unpredictable weather we have been having. You have heard all about in Diva's blogs.
During the tornado that pretty much blew away Picher----my aunt and uncle's house in Quapaw, Ok, completely blew away--no walls--nothing. My grandparents lost their house too. Luckily my aunt and uncle were in Tulsa at the time it hit and they were not at home. My grandparents live just across the pasture from them, not very far, and my other uncle got them out of the house just in time--they had just woke up from a nap and had no idea what was going on. They left and their windows blew out of their house, a tree uprooted and went through their kitchen and it blew their front porch off and the back roof, and their barn. They saw my aunt and uncles house blow away. I thank God that my uncle got them out!!!

Brady is doing MLT this summer again, which he loves! They are doing Seussical the Musical this summer. He wants to be a Wickersham brother.
He has church camp next week and I got talked into helping with the girls for a couple of days. I haven't been to camp since I was probably 14, so this will be very new to me. I just hope there is air conditioning, lots and lots of it, and hopefully they all won't mind a little snoring.........

Well I promise I will be a better blogger. I messed mine up a couple of days ago and erased my links and then I gave up. I fixed it today so maybe I can keep it going.

I want my MTV!

OHMYGOSH! I can't take it anymore! We have been without DISH since Dec. 13th (when our electricity came on again.) We can't even get any kind of fuzzy local channel to watch. I would even take that! We called last week to get it fixed, which was supposed to be TOMORROW! And I was counting down the minutes, believe me, I am going INSANE! So, as I am counting down my minutes until I can watch The View tomorrow morning, or Days Of Our Lives at 1pm, they call me awhile ago and they overbooked our area! YA, RIGHT! They caught me off guard and I was trying to be nice so I said, OK January 2 will be fine to reschedule. Now I am pissed. I called Steve to tell him, but of course they just got a memo at work telling them no phone calls at all and they have a 3 minute clock on their phone. Don't people have anything else to think about? They already have cameras in the booth, and they record everything that is said, what more do you want? Ok, I am on a rant, I know BUT I AM SORRY I HAVE TO HAVE ME SOME TV!!!!!! We have watched too many movies lately and I want my TV! I already missed the Survivor finale.
What I am really doing right now is waiting for DISH to call me back so I can let them know that I need it done before Friday! I am not going to spend all of Christmas break with Brady and my husband with no TV. I can't even switch to cable tv because they can't come out until after the first of the year. AAAHHH!
Ok, so now an hour later I call them back and the people they have to fix DISH can't come out until Jan. 2! I called DISH network to make sure we would not be billed for the 3 weeks we have no TV. I'm not paying if I am not watching!
I have a feeling I will be blogging a lot in these 3 weeks. ....................................

"R" rated movie adventure

Not having been to a rated "R" movie in quite a long time, my husband and I decide that it may, just MAY be ok to take our 12 year old son------if it is only language being the reason it is rated R. I really wanted to see this movie and there were 8-rated "R" movies showing at Joplin. What is with the industry nowadays??? I saw Diva, the kids and Diva's mom at Toys R' Us in Joplin yesterday. And Diva being the great mom she is was going to take her kids to see a movie suitable for kids. (We had already seen that one though) I told her I would let her know how the movie went............................well Kristin--it is definately NOT for kids! LOL! I asked the girl at the tickets why it was rated "R" she said for language and raunch. I thought well how much raunch could a Ben Stiller movie have? OH MY GOSH! Anyway she told us we could come out and get our money back or see another movie, but what do we do? Cover his eyes!!! It was a hilarious movie, but I missed parts because Steve and I were too busy trying to cover his eyes and ears. Now I know never, ever to take him to an "R" rating until he is old enough to go see it himself, without the parents, maybe when he is like 20.

thought I should add that no, he didn't see any of the raunch that went on. Don't want Diva to report me.............

If you are contemplating going to see "Oklahoma" at the Coleman, it is wonderful! absolutely wonderful! I love all the music and the actors are great! Brady is in it ( a small part ) but we have been to practice for weeks and this week is always exhausting. We get home at around 11pm and then I have to get up at 6am. If you do go see it take a walk up to the balcony, it is unbelievable!

I have been subbing all week in 1st grade. I love it!! I really do, I wish I already had my own classroom. It is hard subbing all week and then the next week I am not there and I miss the kids soooo much! :(

Gotta get to sleep!
